IMPORTANT RENEWAL INFORMATION – October 31, 2017

Late Fee Waived in November:  The FCB has waived the $50 late fee for the month of November.  Please Click here for detailed information about completing renewal activities in November.

Child Welfare CEU Audit:  Individuals on this list have been randomly selected for CEU audit.  Each person has received an individual email notice, including this letter and the CEU Audit Cover Sheet.  Hard copy letters will be in the mail the week of November 6th.

What do I do if I don’t have the required CEUs?  Individuals who can not provide eligible CEUs before December 31, 2017 MUST contact your FCB Single Point of Contact for assistance.  The FCB is going to require a written letter on agency letterhead, stating the number of CEUs that are pending and a due date to submit the remaining CEUs.  The timeframe can not exceed 3 months.  Failure to comply with CEU audit by the extension date may result in an Ethics Investigation for failure to comply with credential policies and procedures.

DCF and Sheriff Office Employee Renewal Fees:  DCF will pay the $200 renewal fee for one eligible credential for current DCF and Sheriff Office protective investigator staff.  Each region/sheriff submitted a list of people who are eligible for the fee payment under the contract.  Each individual and the specified credential on the 2017 CW DCF Contract Pay List has been identified to FCB and will be updated in the system.  IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE AND NOT ON THE LIST, reach out to your employer’s FCB Single Point of Contact for assistance.  FCB can add eligible credentials under contract billing until November 30, 2017.

Multiple Credential Holders:  If you hold more than one credential AND your employer is paying for one credential at the $200 rate AND you are responsible for paying the renewal fee for your other credential(s) at the reduced $100 rate, PLEASE WAIT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE NOTICE FROM FCB TO GO ONLINE AND PAY YOUR OTHER RENEWAL FEES.  This is because the FCB has to apply the employer payment to your account in order for the discount to apply to your other credentials.  You will not be placed in inactive status if your ability to pay the renewal fee is impacted by the need for the employer fee to be applied first.

The Child Welfare Certification process is designed for individuals hired by an FCB recognized child welfare services provider who are not certified in Child Welfare at the time of hire.  These applicants enjoy direct employer-provided support related to training, testing and other professional development activities necessary to earn provisional and full certification.  Applicants who separate from their employer before earning the CWPI, CWCM or CWLC credential MAY NOT complete the certification process.

Please download and read the Child Welfare Certification Process Step-by-Step Instructions for the details of how to apply; register and administer an exam; complete on-the-job requirements; and the process for being awarded full certification.
