The FCB is pleased to offer the Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) credential.
The MCAP is an advanced practice credential for individuals working in a licensed substance abuse disorder treatment program in Florida. The MCAP designates competency in the domains of:
- Clinical Evaluation
- Treatment Planning
- Counseling
- Case Management and Referral
- Client, Family, and Community Education
- Documentation
- Clinical Supervision
- Professional Responsibilities
Individuals holding the MCAP are a qualified professional under Chapter 397, Florida Statutes. The MCAP credential meets the requirements for a Master’s Level CAP who may make substance use disorder diagnosis in programs billed under Florida’s State Medicaid Plan.
The MCAP does not allow for independent practice. MCAPs are authorized to work in licensed substance use disorder treatment agencies or community mental health centers.
