SMS Communications Privacy Policy

The Florida Certification Board (“FCB,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy.

As part of the FCB Certification Tracking software, users may choose to receive notifications regarding their certification applications, examinations, renewals, payments, and other account-related activities by email and/or SMS (text message).

FCB sends only transactional and informational SMS messages. Marketing or promotional text messages are not sent through this service.

Collection and Use of Mobile Numbers

When you voluntarily provide your mobile phone number and choose SMS as your preferred communication method, FCB will use your phone number only to send notifications related to your account and certification activities.

Examples of SMS notifications include:

  • Application status updates
  • Certification status updates
  • Renewal reminders
  • Examination notifications
  • Requests for additional documentation
  • Account verification codes
  • Payment confirmations
  • Customer support communications
  • Other certification-related updates

SMS Consent

SMS messages are sent only after you voluntarily opt in through your Notification Preferences within the FCB Certification Tracking software.

You may update your communication preferences at any time by logging into your account and modifying your Notification Preferences.

Providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive SMS messages is voluntary. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services or obtaining certification services.

Sharing of Information

The Florida Certification Board does not share, sell, rent, or provide your mobile phone number, SMS messaging consent data, or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Mobile information and SMS consent are used solely to provide certification-related communications requested by the user.

We may use trusted service providers solely to deliver SMS communications on our behalf. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may not use it for marketing purposes.

Message frequency varies based on your certification activity and account status.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and service plan.

Opting Out

You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by:

  • Updating your Notification Preferences within your FCB account, or
  • Replying STOP to any SMS message at any time.
  • Reply HELP for assistance or contact the Florida Certification Board at (850) 222-6314 or support@flcertificationboard.org.

After opting out, you will continue to receive important communications through email if email notifications remain enabled.
